Next up to announce its range-wide post-GST price list is Lexus Malaysia and as a whole, it's good news all round. From the looks of it, only the ES 300h hybrid is expected to cost more following the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
For starters the Lexus CT 200h now costs RM255,727.50 on-the-road (OTR) without insurance - a drop of RM1,158 or 0.45% when compared to its pre-GST price tag. The recently-launced Lexus NX range now begins at RM287,199 OTR sans insurance for the 200t variant while the range-topping NX 300h goes for RM372,110 - a decrease of RM2,890 from its pre-GST price tag of RM375,000 for the latter.
On the other end of the scale, the LS range will now witness a decrease of up to RM13,677 courtesy of the dip in price for the Lexus LS 600h L. The sole model to be priced higher is the ES 300h with its price rising slightly to RM353,201 - a minute increase over the original figure of RM353,000.
The reduction lines up well with what was said earlier on by UMW Toyota president Datuk Ismet Suki. "There will be price reduction up to RM4,000 or 2% for Toyota and Lexus models," he said. As one can see from the attached graphic, the 2.04% decrease for the GS 350 F Sport model confirms Ismet's statement.
