Land Rover has announced that it will launch a new variant of the Range Rover Sport to slow below the almighty Range Rover Sport SVR and above the other HSE variants - the Range Rover Sport HST. Where it will differ from its stablemates, is the fact that the Sport HST will be a limited edition variant.

Due for its world premiere at the upcoming 2015 New York International Auto Show (2015 NYIAS), the crossover is expected to feature a 3.0 litre, supercharged V6 engine under its bonnet - power figures have been quoted at 380 hp. If that sounds all too familiar to you, you're probably spot on as that same mill is employed in the Jaguar F-Type S.

Other mechanical upgrades include a reworked suspension setup that promises "reduced body roll and enhanced agility" along with bigger brake discs clamped by red calipers. Unlike its normal Sport siblings, the Range Rover Sport HST seems to have forgotten its option of a two-speed transfer case.

Aesthetic add-ons on the Range Rover Sport HST include 21-inch satin grey alloy wheels, smoked head and tail lamps, black accents on the bonnet and fog lamp surrounds, a Santorini Black roof and a rear spoiler. On the inside, the two-tone leather seats are featured alongside Ebony-trimmed door and dash fascias. Aluminium pedals, "Noble-plated" paddle shifters and a smattering of HST badges complete the makeover.
