It's hard to believe that three decades have flown by since the introduction of the Hyundai Sonata. Introduced in 1985, the D-segment competitor from South Korea is now in its seventh iteration and still going strong with more than 7.3 million units sold since the first Sonata rolled off the production line.
"The Hyundai Sonata has been a huge factor in Hyundai's growth not only in the US, but around the world," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "During its 30-year history, we have been able to craft and evolve the Sonata to the ever-changing needs of our customers," added Zuchowski.

Closer to home, the seventh-generation Hyundai Sonata LF was launched in Malaysia in December 2014. Offered in three different trim levels, the CBU D-segment sedan is powered by a sole 2.0 litre Nu engine with 154 PS and 194 Nm of torque, mated to an in-house six-speed automatic gearbox.
