More traffic diversion updates on the ongoing construction of the KL Mass Rapid Transit system, this time for June - MMC-Gamuda has announced the latest set of changes to traffic management around three MRT construction sites, along Jalan Sungai Buloh, Lebuh Bandar Utama and the Cheras-Kajang Grand Saga highway.
From June 1 to June 20, a temporary short-term night contra-flow from 11 pm to 6 am daily will be implemented along Jalan Sungai Buloh (Subang-bound and Kuala Selangor-bound), in two stages.
Stage 1, which runs from June 1 to June 8, will see an implementation of a 500 metre fast lane closure along Jalan Sungai Buloh (Kuala Selangor-bound) from the abandoned petrol station to the abandoned JG Living Home Gallery. During this period, one traffic lane will be made available for motorists (Kuala Selangor-bound).
Stage 2 will take place from June 13-20, a 500 metre-stretch of fast lane closure will take place along Jalan Sungai Buloh (Subang-bound) from the main entrance of the Pusat Latihan Perhutanan Sungai Buloh to the junction of Persiaran Mohagani. During this period, one traffic lane will be made available for Subang-bound motorists.
The medium-term road closure at Lebuh Bandar Utama and Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, meanwhile, will continue until July 31. This involves a slip road closure in front of 1 Utama New Wing, and lane closures at Lebuh Bandar Utama and Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi will be implemented until July 31, from 12 am to 6 am (Monday-Friday) and from 12 am to 8 am on Saturday-Sunday.
The closure will be segmented into four parts (as indicated in red on the map):
A1: Full slip road closure in front of 1 Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing) to LDP Highway (Kepong-bound).
A2: Road closure along Lebuh Bandar Utama exiting to LDP Highway.
A3: Closure of Bandar Utama Interchange (including U-Turn to return to Kepong and right turn into Lebuh Bandar Utama; from SS2 right turn into Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi)
A4: Partial road closure along Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi turning into LDP Highway (Kepong-bound) and Lebuh Bandar Utama.
During this night closure, the following diversions will take place: Motorists from Lebuh Bandar Utama going to LDP Highway (Kepong-bound) will be diverted to turn right into Dataran Bandar Utama and exit to LDP Highway via Persiaran Bandar Utama. Then make a U-turn at the Bandar Utama Interchange and head towards the TTDI Interchange to make a U -turn and getonto the flyover heading towards Kepong. This is indicated by purple on the map.
Motorists from Lebuh Bandar Utama wanting to access Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi or Jalan Leong Yew
Koh/ Jalan Damansara/SS2 To be diverted to turn right into Dataran Bandar Utama and exit to LDP Highway via Persiaran Bandar Utama. Then make a U-turn at the Bandar Utama Interchange and then turn left into Jalan Leong Yew Koh and those wanting to access Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi can turn left into Jalan Leong Yew Koh anduse the internal road system while the rest can head towards the TTDI Interchange. Marked as green on the map.
Motorists from Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi or Kepong wanting to go to Lebuh Bandar Utama/ Kepong
To be diverted to turn left onto LDP-Highway (SS2-bound) and make a U-turn at the TTDI Interchange. Motorists wanting to access Lebuh Bandar Utama will turn left into Persiaran Bandar Utama while those heading Kepong-bound will take the flyover. Marked as yellow on the map.
Motorists from SPRINT Highway intending to go to Bandar Utama may also continue to travel on the SPRINT Highway (E23) and approach One Utama from the southern entry i.e. Lebuh Bandar Utama. All lanes on the flyover at the Bandar Utama Interchange from Kepong is available to motorists.
Finally, a short term night lane closure will be implemented at Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga Highway) from
June 1 to June 8, between 12 am to 5 am daily. The night lane closure is necessary to facilitate the coating and painting works along the highway.
Motorists from Kuala Lumpur heading towards Semenyih will be diverted to the most right lane. Motorists from Semenyih going towards Kuala Lumpur will not be affected.
