Some changes to the Malaysian-spec Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG for 2015 - the car made its local debut in October 2013 as a special limited-run Edition 1 model, and the run-out has been completed for the version. Replacing it in the model line-up is the "standard" A 45 AMG, which rolls in at RM346,888 on-the-road without insurance, two grand cheaper than the Edition 1 (RM348,888).
The reduction in pricing and the loss of Edition 1 badging doesn't mean that the standard car is lacking - if anything, virtually all the equipment seen on the Edition 1 is found on this one, including the AMG Aerodynamics Package (with the larger front splitter, AMG rear aerofoil and additional flics on the front apron) and AMG sports exhaust system.
Also continuing on are the 19-inch multi-spoke AMG alloys as well as the AMG Night Package, which dresses up the exterior mirro housings, side sill inserts, rear apron trim and front splitter elements in high-gloss black.
Omissions are thus minimal, made up of the running stripe decals and red accents seen on the exterior of the Edition 1, as well as the electric panoramic sunroof, the 2015 local-spec car making do without it. No mechanical changes, the M133 2.0 litre mill continuing on with 360 hp at 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm at 2,250 to 5,000 rpm, paired with an AMG Speedshift DCT seven-speed dual-clutch sports transmission.
