The 2016 Acura RDX facelift has been officially unveiled at the 2015 Chicago motor show. Sporting a refreshed face along with a minute hike in power and a number of safety upgrades, Acura's facelifted compact crossover is set to hit the market at the end of the first quarter of 2015.
As far as aesthetics go, the facelifted Acura RDX now sports a revamped bumper and front grille design - aimed at bringing the car in line with Acura's new design language. The trademark Jewel Eye LED head lamps are now incorporated while new alloys and LED tail lamps complete the raft of changes.
Under the hood lies a new 3.5 litre V6 mill with cylinder deactivation technology - which could feature in the 2016 Honda Pilot, as well. Compared to its predecessor, the new car possesses 279 hp and 341 Nm of torque - an increase of just 6 hp and 1 Nm. A nine-speed transmission is responsible for putting that power to all four wheels via Acura's AWD system with Intelligent Control.
Inside, contrasting silver and black trim now present themselves while heated front seats come as standard along with additional air-con vents for the second row. A Technology Package adds an eight-way electronically adjustable front passenger seat, a dual-screen On-Demand Multi-Information Display, blind spot detection and a Rear Cross Traffic monitor.
Opting for the Advance Package further secures rain-sensing wipers, Bi-Directional Keyless remote engine start, ventilated front seats and a host of safety systems found under the AcuraWatch umbrella. The range of systems include lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, Acura's Collision Mitigation Braking System, a Multi-View rear camera and Expanded View driver's side mirror.
