The European D-segment Toyota Avensis has been given another shot in the arm, seven years into production. The refreshed T270 will make its debut in both sedan and estate forms at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Just the front end has been revealed so far, along with precious little information, but already it appears that the revisions run deeper than those recently applied to the larger US-market Avalon. Completely revised by Toyota's Design Studio ED2 in France, the front fascia brings the flagship closer in looks to the Auris and European-market Corolla (which we get here as the Altis).
The headlights are broader, slimmer; there also appear to be two different internal graphics, one with individual LED daytime running lights and another with sleeker tube-type units. The upper grille is also narrower than before, while the lower grille has grown much larger in size.
The company promises a new range of engines intended to appeal to fleet and private buyers alike, with the BMW-sourced 1.6 litre D-4D diesel from the Verso expected to be on offer. A revised chassis and a reworked interior are also reportedly on the cards for the facelifted Avensis.
