There are individuals out there who are bound to emerge after a hot lap in the C7-gen Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and grumble about it not having enough power - for reference, a bog-standard Corvette Z06 puts out a total of 650 hp and 881 Nm of twist from a supercharged LT4 6.2 litre V8 engine. Well, bless their souls for without such individuals, the men and women of Callaway Cars would have no way to put food on the table.

And put a lot of food on the table they will with the introduction of the company's new tuning package for the Corvette Z06. Said package is touted to promise "astounding power" for the latest Z06 and it's no lie - equipped as such, the Callaway-fettled Corvette Z06 pumps out a total of 757 hp at 6,200 rpm and 1,052 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. With such figures recorded, it is the most powerful Corvette model in the firm's history.

Externally, a few key details help mark it out as something more than just another Z06. The list includes a carbon-fibre engine cover, a reworked supercharger housing that extends through the bonnet, new wheels, Callaway insignias and a refreshed rear fascia with centrally-mounted twin tailpipes (cost options).

As for the interior, the package includes embroidered floor mats, anodised aluminium door sills, a smattering of Callaway badges and unique key fobs. Naturally, the centre of attention is the package itself which consists of Callaway's GenThree supercharger.

Said supercharger is touted to be 32% larger than the firm's previous iteration and possesses a system so complex that the "utility and design aspects of the system" have been granted a patent pending status by the US Patent and Trademark Office. In terms of cooling, Callaway engineers have designed a "unique, triple-element intercooler configuration" along with the aforementioned unique supercharger housing.

As a result, said supercharger is visible even with the bonnet shut - said layout introduces an added element of convective cooling. Elsewhere, the supercharger assembly features a reworked manifold for an even distribution of the airflow which, in turn, results in a broader torque band from 2,000 to 6,400 rpm. Also, a "10-rib pulley system" was introduced to hinder belt slippage.

All in all, the entire package is available for purchase at US$16,995 (RM64,813), excluding the base car. Concerns over reliability are sorted via a Callway-standard three-year/36,000 mile (57,936 km) warranty on top of the original General Motors warranty.
