You have to hand it to the people at Mercedes-Benz - they really, really know how to tease. Not long since the last batch of spyshots of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe landed on our doorstep, our European spy photographers have managed to obtain yet another set, this time with a prototype that's wearing little to no camouflage!

Compared to the earlier photographs, the set you see here offers us an interrupted view of the two-doored C-Class - and what a looker this one is going to be. Those monitoring the progress of this car will be well-acquainted with the front end by now but this is perhaps the first time that we're being offered a close-up of the car's rear three quarters. True enough, we could be looking at the rump of a miniature S-Class Coupe.

Other aesthetic cues revealed here (and in earlier shots) are the repositioned side mirrors that are now door-mounted - the sedan had its mirrors mounted at the base of the A-pillar. Other details include a reduced window height, a wider track, a marginally lower roofline and more muscular rear haunches.

While a fair amount of tape still masks the key areas, it would appear that the rear lamps of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will feature the same narrow, stylised ones that cut into the boot lid. Also, the base for the registration plate appears to have migrated down below said boot assembly while a diffuser element is present for added visual drama.

On the inside, expect more or less the same layout albeit with more luxurious materials. Under the bonnet, the C-Class Coupe is expected to be equipped with the same engine/transmission combination seen on the four-doored W205 C-Class - a range of four- and six-cylinder engines are touted along with a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine on the fire-breathing AMG variant.

Also, the C-Class Coupe is expected to be joined by its top-dropping sister some time in the future. Unlike its nemesis, the BMW 4 Series Convertible, the convertible variant has been mooted to include a folding canvas top. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will most definitely make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show before going on sale as a 2016 model.
