Too much money lying about in the bank? Here's a relatively good way for you to spend it - both the McLaren 540C and 570S are now available for pre-order as announced by McLaren Kuala Lumpur. The two models hail from the British carmaker's Sports Series range, an "entry-level" tier that sits below the Super Series (650S Coupe and Spider) and Ultimate Series (P1 and P1 GTR).

The Sports Series range kicks off with the McLaren 540C, which was unveiled at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. Looks wise, it's almost identical to its bigger brother, the 570S, save for the inclusion of mildly reworked aero package and unique alloy wheels - 19-inch units in front, 20-inch at the rear. The 540C is motivated by a twin-turbo 3.8 litre V8 engine with 540 PS and 540 Nm of torque.

Paired to a seven-speed seamless shift gearbox (SSG), the 540C rockets from nought to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 320 km/h. As for the McLaren 570S, it employs the same mill, albeit with a stronger state of tune. As a result, it is endowed with 570 PS and 600 Nm of twist - straight-line performance includes a century sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top whack of 328 km/h.

At launch, the McLaren 540C is priced from £126,000 (RM740,518) while the 570S carries a heavier price tag of £143,250 (RM841,899). Deliveries for the former will commence at the start of next year.
